Han's profile picture

I am a PhD student at University of Toronto Faculty of Information, advised by Professor Christoph Becker. My research interests are: human-computer interaction, design and data exploration support. My current project look into how urban data, visualizations and data exploration tools can support sensemaking and storytelling in sustainability advocacy.

In 2021, I worked with two amazing mentors Professor Lydia Chilton and Vivian Liu at the Columbia University Computational Design Lab. This has been an incredible experience for me to delve a little bit deeper into human-AI interaction and support tools for human creativity.

I graduated from Wellesley College, studying math and media arts and sciences (cs + design). I then obtained my MSc in urban planning at University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design.
